Howard says Qantas sale may need conditions

TravpressHoward has announced in a recent statement that conditions may need to be applied to the current takeover proposal for Qantas.

The current AUD11.1 billion buy-out proposal submitted by the Airline Partners Australia (APA) consortium will currently have to meet a series of requirement regarding foreign ownership and regulations.

John Howard, Australian Prime Minister has said that conditions may be needed if the sale is to go ahead.

“Conditions about the headquarters of the company, conditions about staff, and reasonable conditions about operations,” he told Southern Cross Radio, were the items that needed to be looked at.

"But until we get the formal proposal, and I’m not aware that it’s been submitted, it’s a bit too early to be talking in greater detail.”
