Heathrow has created an exclusive range of G&T-bags using botanicals inspired by three of the airport’s top 10 destinations. The G&T-bags have been produced as part of the UK’s biggest international airport’s eight-week-long Gin Festival, celebrating the incredibly popular British spirit.

Heathrow and World Duty Free sell around 250,000 bottles of gin each year, an average of just under 700 bottles per day. Over 40 varieties of gin are sold at Heathrow, and of these three quarters are British made. The unique T-bags are completely new to the UK, with infusions replicating flavours from three of the top destinations Heathrow flies to; the USA, India and Sweden

The USA G&T-bag combines red berries, hibiscus and apple for a sweet and rich taste, perfect for pairing with a juniper-based gin. Sweden’s ‘Rose Jasmine’ flavor is brimming with soft floral aromas; blending jasmine tea, rose petals, hibiscus and apple; best paired with a spiced gin. The India G&T-bag has a sweet, sour and spicy fusion of lemon, orange, black pepper and cardamom, which perfectly complements more floral gins.

Infused with dry blended botanicals and herbs, each pyramid-shaped silk pouch infuses in a gin and tonic to give an enhanced flavour experience, creating beautiful pastel shades as the natural ingredients slowly release their aromas and colours.

The limited-edition range will be available as a gift with bottles of British gins purchased throughout the festival period, along with tasting notes for the best G&T experience. The festival gives passengers the opportunity to enjoy exclusive gin cocktails, try samples and learn more about their favourite gins from our experts.

Chris Annetts, Retail and Service Proposition Director at Heathrow said: “Gin is a quintessentially British drink and a really popular choice with our passengers and the Gin Festival is a great way to celebrate this fantastic spirit. We hope to bring people closer to some unique and exciting experiences with the unrivalled range of gin brands across our restaurants, bars and in World Duty Free stores.”

The exclusive Heathrow G&T-bags will be available as a gift with the purchase of every bottle of gin over £29 in participating World Duty Free stores at Heathrow from 1st July.
