The X Factor’ Winner 2015 Cyrus Villanueva Entertains Guests
Over 300 people gathered at Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort on Saturday night for a special event to celebrate the re-launch of the iconic resort, following an extensive $43 million revitalisation, which saw the complete transformation of guest rooms, suites and public areas.
Renowned as a celebrity hotspot when it first opened, guests were treated to a night of glamour at the new look resort. Actress and singer, Rachael Beck was MC for the night, getting festivities in full swing before performing a lively set for partygoers, featuring a mix of classic hits and modern day favourites.
Performing on the resort’s the main beach, against a backdrop of swaying palm trees, Cyrus Villanueva, winner of The X Factor 2015, wowed guest with an 80’s inspired set, paying homage to the resorts rich history, as well as his hits Stone and Keep Talking.
The guest list featured former Miss World Australia, singer and actress, Erin Holland, who is originally from Cairns, Julia Lieu, Mayor of Port Douglas, and Steve Molnar, General Manger, Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort, as well as media and key stakeholders within the community, including local businesses and the tourism industry.
To mark the milestone guests were also treated to a fireworks display and throughout the night delicious canapés featuring local produce delighted their taste buds.
