Thredbo Jazz Festival 2015
Now in its 28th year, the Thredbo Jazz Festival has announced a stellar line-up for 2015 that features a selection of Jazz luminaries, festival regulars and iconic Australian performers. From 1st to 3rd May 2015, Thredbo’s famous Alpine Village will host a strong cast of Jazz talent, including Katie Noonan, Ms Murphy, Billy Burton and many more who are sure to keep festival-goers entertained.
Over the course of the weekend, guests will see Thredbo Village transform into a true celebration of spectacular Jazz in Australia as 19 stellar acts perform in a distinctive mix of venues. As one of the most unique events on the Australian festival calendar, visitors to the Thredbo Jazz Festival are given the chance to see their favourite artists more than once as they perform additional shows in altering venues over the weekend. From cosy restaurants to indoor music halls; intimate bars to alfresco pool-side stages, Thredbo Jazz Festival boasts acts and venues that appeal to everyone.
A heady mix of top Aussie artists will join Noonan and Murphy on the 2015 bill, promising to deliver an array of genres to delight new Jazz fans and aficionados alike. Young guns Matt McMahon and Righteous Voodoo will mix it along side West African roots band, Keyimba, while crooners Bakelite Broadcasters will melt your heart and Harmaniax can energise your soul. Bill Burton, who many will remember from the sixties and seventies from Big Bands, will also host an ‘interview luncheon’, where he will talk, play, and interact with his audience – a once-in-a-lifetime experience not to be missed!
