Qatar Airways – Doha to Athens – Business Class

Aircraft:  Airbus A330-300

Configuration: Two class configuration, consisting of Business Class (30 seats) and Economy Class (275 seats).

Journey time: 4 hours.

Luggage allowance: Business Class with Qatar Airways allows for a combined luggage weight of 40kg.

Cabin conditions: A large, spacious and clean cabin, with Qatar’s signature maroon and grey interior.  The temperature is cool and comfortable and there is plenty of space for overhead luggage as well as added storage space for smaller items around the seat.

Seat comfort: Business Class has 30 angle-flat seats with a 165 degree recline, a pitch of 60 and width of 21.  The seats are comfortable with ample leg room, and the built in remote control allows passengers to choose their own level of comfort.

Inflight entertainment:  Each passenger has their own personal entertainment system with plenty of choice for various movies, documentaries, music channels and more through Oryx, which is very user friendly.  Noise cancelling headphones ensure maximum entertainment pleasure, and wifi is also available for those who wish to be online while in the air.

Staff service:  Exceptional service from the Qatar Airways staff, from the check in to the warm farewell as you disembark.  The staff are always pleasant, courteous and extremely efficient, ensuring passengers are comfortable and ready for take off, meal service and landing.  The cabin crew take pride in representing a high quality airline, evident in their grooming and polished uniforms, in cream and maroon.

When boarding the flight, passengers are greeted warmly and welcomed on board before being assisted with their belongings and seat allocation as well as offered a beverage.

I was originally in 4E but preferred a window seat, and was kindly assisted to 1A once available.

We had a slightly abrupt landing and once it was safe to move around, the cabin crew went to each passenger to apologise and see if everything was alright, which it was, and assist with any items that may have moved.

On-board catering: Breakfast was served during this early morning flight, with refreshments and beverages offered throughout the flight.  The meals on offer ranged from a variety of international cuisines, thanks to Qatar Airways’ Culinary World Menu.

I opted for a delicious scrambled eggs and salmon breakfast, accompanied by criossants, pancakes, condiments and fresh fruit.  The coffee was perfect and the raspberry smoothie was refreshing and absolutely delicious, I had to have two of these!

On-time performance: We departed on time and arrived in Athens righton schedule.  The captain kept us up to date on arrival times and our destination’s weather conditions.

Flight rating: 5 out of 5.  A comfortable and most pleasant flight thanks to excellent service provided, a great range of entertainment options, beautifully prepared breakfast and on time arrival.
