Jessica Quinlan
Events & Industry Development Assistant
ATEC (Australian Tourism Export Council)

Jessica has been with ATEC for one and a half years now. She started in the industry just over two years ago because of her keen interest in travelling … and my mother has been in the industry for over 20 years!

The best part of my job is the networking opportunities and the friendly people I get to work with … and the travel perks!

I love Tasmania as a destination and would highly recommend it. I was just in Hobart for our annual event and I was blown away by its beauty. The landscape is amazing!

My favourite travel memory was in Thailand. I was staying in the most amazing 5 star resort. The staff went to great lengths to turn their pool area into an outdoor cinema just for me! Then served popcorn and soft drinks to me all night! I’m already dreaming of my next trip to South Africa – I would love to go on a safari adventure!

Just for fun
What are three things you must always travel with?
Credit card, comfortable shoes and a good backpack!
When you travel what activity is top of your must do list?
Shopping! I always need to inspect the local shopping mall for some bargains!
If you were seated on a flight, in the centre row of four, name three celebrities you would happily share the row with?
Leo Di Caprio, Cameron Diaz and Jude Law
On a past trip what is something you bought that was quirky and a bit of fun?
A white babydoll dress I bought from the side of the road in Thailand. It is very baggy and not my usual style but I love it!
What is your favourite cuisine?
Thai – I could live on Pad Thai for the rest of my life!
What’s a favourite drink you tried on a past trip?
Pina Colada. Rum, Milk, Coconut, Pineapple juice and served in a Pineapple!
