A Michigan woman who fell asleep on a United Express flight to Philadelphia says she was shocked to find herself alone in an empty aircraft when she woke up.
Ginger McGuire said no one woke her when the taxied into the airport more than three hours earlier at 12:30 a.m.
She said she frantically paced the aisle for about 15 minutes early Tuesday until the locked door opened and police stormed in demanding her identification.
“Waking up to an empty airplane and not being able to get out – it was horrifying,” McGuire, 36, told reporters.
McGuire said she fell asleep during her long flight which stretched from Detroit to suburban Washington and finally to Philadelphia.United spokeswoman Sarah Massier declined comment because the incident has led to a lawsuit relating to false imprisonment.
