The French private airline Aigle Azur welcomed the delivery of its first directly purchased new Airbus A319 aircraft at a ceremony in Hamburg last week.

This new A319 will join the airline’s fleet of ten A320 Family aircraft, comprising three A319s, three A320s and four A321s.

"The delivery of this brand new aircraft highlights our fleet upgrading strategy which enables us to offer our passengers the highest levels of comfort and services" said Arezki Idjerouidene, President of Aigle Azur.

"With an all A320 Family fleet we benefit from savings in every element of direct operating costs and from the highest degree of operational commonality."

"By adding this new A319 to its fleet, Aigle Azur is ensuring that it will be well positioned to build on its success with the most modern, efficient and comfortable single aisle product available in the market," said John Leahy, Chief Operating Officer, Customers.

"We are delighted to build on our existing close relationship with Aigle Azur and to contribute to its further success," he added.
