What happens to the semi-used soap and shampoos that are left behind in hotel rooms? Well under a new initiative from Walt Disney World resorts, these will be donated to those in need.
Partnering with Clean the World, Walt Disney World Resort hotels will recycle all the partly used amenities which would usually be discarded and destined for landfill, by donating them to countries in need.
One of the destinations already set to benefit is the earthquake stricken Haiti, which since January this year has already seen 150 tonnes of goods supplied by Clean the World.
“With the support of Walt Disney World, even more supplies will reach those in desperate need,” said Paul Till, Clean the World Co-founder and Managing Director.
In 2009, Clean the World distributed more than 230 tons of hygiene products to countries worldwide including Haiti, Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Uganda, Mali, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Mongolia and Romania.Other companies also participating in the Clean the World project include Crystal Cruises, Quality Inn, and several individual hotels.
