Royal Caribbean Cruises has reported that despite fares being a third over their last peak month in 2009, it managed to secure three times more bookings this January than last January.
In addition January 2010 also recorded the highest volume of calls taken by the reservations team across all three Royal Caribbean brands.
“We’ve started 2010 on such a high note and naturally we are extremely happy to see such a strong performance,” said Adam Armstrong, Royal Caribbean Cruises Australia Commercial Manager.
“It signals that the economy is rebounding and that people want to travel.”
Royal Caribbean says that its ship based in Australia, Rhapsody of the Seas, dominated over two thirds of the bookings.
