World’s largest recruits new Associate Director with a world of experience


Edelman, the world’s largest independent public relations agency, has appointed Rachel White as Associate Director within its experienced Lifestyle division. Rachel joins the team with more than 15 years public relations experience gained from both agency and in-house roles spanning tourism, consumer, media, consumer technology and business-to-business sectors.

Before joining Edelman Rachel was Group Communications Manager for The Travel Corporation, an international travel group which owns and operates 17 travel brands including Trafalgar Tours, Insight Vacations, Creative Holidays, AAT Kings, Contiki Holidays, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, Busabout Europe, Shamroker Tours and Haggis Adventures.

In this role Rachel gained extensive experience communicating with several travel segments including youth, baby boomer, generalist, luxury and backpacker. The role encompassed consumer campaigns, corporate communication, internal communication, consumer and trade media relations, marketing communication, industry relations, corporate hospitality, crisis management and providing senior counsel.

Prior to this Rachel gained consumer technology experience at Recognition Public Relations, a specialist IT public relations agency. She has consulted for Hewlett Packard Business Printers, Spherion, Britannica, WRQ, and Chordiant. Rachel was also previously the Consumer PR Manager for AOL Australia responsible for consumer media relations, school education and social inclusion programs.

Rachel has further consumer experience gained from consultancy roles with clients including Morgan & Banks, Wendy’s, The Australian Women’s Weekly, Woman’s Day and The Redwood Clinic. She has also worked in media with consumer marketing roles at Pacific Magazines spanning New Idea, That’s Life!, Girlfriend, and TV Hits magazines.

Rachel holds a Masters degree in Communication Management from The University of Technology, Sydney and is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration. Currently Rachel leads accounts for Bosch, Etihad Airways, Reckitt Benckiser and Paypal.
