Hilton Singapore’s D9 Cakery celebrates Singapore’s 54th Birthday
Double up the celebration with a showcase of artisanal Singapore-inspired desserts complemented with over 40 local specialties and all-time favourites.
A perfect Saturday is well spent with a shopping spree along Orchard Road (Singapore’s premier shopping and entertainment district), followed by a pampering high tea session to celebrate the end of the work-week with good food and company at D9 Saturday High Tea Buffet, located at Hilton Singapore. Starting August through to October, in conjunction with Singapore’s 54th birthday, Hilton Singapore will be doubling the celebration with an elaborate showcase of artisanal Singapore-inspired desserts by Executive Pastry Chef Cindy Khoo, complemented by over 40 local favourites and international delights spanning seven live stations.
Local guests can channel their patriotism for local cuisine and delight in the spread of Singapore specialities and all-time favourites including the not-to-be-missed hawker-style roasted meat station with crispy roasted duck, five-spice crispy pork belly and roasted chicken rice. Diners will be able to go on rounds at the cooked-to-order live stations of homemade ‘nasi lemak’ with ikan bilis, fried egg, sambal udang and fried chicken wing, pan-fried carrot cake and wok-fried Hokkien mee with prawns. In addition, foodies can get a hands-on experience at the create-your-own rojak (traditional fruit and vegetable salad) and power salad stations or go for unlimited rounds of dim sums and seafood at the ocean-fresh seafood bar brimming with tiger prawns, Japanese clams and black mussels. The local cuisine enthusiasts will be dazzled by even more specialties which are prepared with a local twist such as gourmet pasta of fusilli with traditional chili crab sauce and grated pecorino, fresh stone-hearth oven baked pizza with flavours of fish otak-otak and paneer tikka with raita.
Those with a sweet tooth will be able to take the classic high tea up a notch with an impressive array of handcrafted desserts featuring artisanal cakes, dessert shooters (deconstructed cakes in a jar), seasonal fruit and nut tarts which are decked on the six-metre long showcase that are bound to elevate the sugar rush to an all-time high. Dessert lovers will be delighted with the exclusive collection of Singapore-inspired desserts featuring Singapore Sling gâteaux, soya bean curd tart, salted egg yolk and red bean coconut macarons, as well as the camouflage print collection of homemade classic loafs and capsule pralines in local-cuisine flavours of gula melaka pandan, Horlicks jackfruit and mung beans.
Dedicated high tea lovers will be pleasantly surprised with free flow of coffee and the finest tea selection by TWG teas only at D9 Saturday Afternoon High Tea Buffet. Available every Saturday, from noon until 3:00pm. Priced at $48 for adults or top up $35 to enjoy free flow of selected wines and beer. Child aged between five and 12 years old gets 50 percent off, inclusive of free flow coffee and over ten selections of TWG teas. Diners can also take advantage of the “50 percent off every second diner” offer with two-day advance reservation for Citibank card members from now until October 27, 2019.
