Meet MTA – Mobile Travel Agents Alicia Pringle
Background: I’m married, have an amazing son who is nearly three and have lived in Australia, New Zealand and England.
What did you do before you joined MTA? I started my career with Flight Centre, then worked for RACQ Travel
Do you have a specialised area in travel? All things leisure travel but FIT to Europe and the Americas is my favourite.
What is the most unusual (or interesting) location you have worked as an MTA Mobile Travel Agent? In the middle of the Pacific Ocean on a cruise!
What is the weirdest request you have had from a client? Ferry tickets from Sydney to Fiji. Not a cruise or flights – ferry tickets. Computer said no.
If you hadn’t become an MTA Mobile Travel Agent – what other career path would you have taken? A geologist. I love all things geography and geology – it’s amazing how this world fits together.
What’s one of your biggest personal achievements? Quitting my job, selling up and travelling overseas on my own at 25. I did it for three years and it was the greatest experience.
Describe your perfect holiday. Lots of adventure and a little bit of relaxing – I’m thinking African safari followed by some down time in Mauritius.
If you had a time machine where would you travel to and why? San Francisco in 1967… how amazing to see and be a part of such a significant time of change in one of the coolest cities on the planet!
If you could choose one, what would your super power be? Teleporting … goodbye economy seats!
What three things do you always take with you when travelling? Passport, toothbrush, comfy shoes
