Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase announced today that Mr Shane McClelland will be joining the Destination NSW team as General Manager Communications.
“Shane brings impressive private sector marketing and communications experience to assist us in the local and international promotion of NSW,” Ms Chipchase said.
“Shane has a strong background in developing communications, media and stakeholder engagement strategies, and more recently has held a number of related roles with some of Australia’s largest companies such as Microsoft Australia, Canon and NRMA. He has senior management experience in public relations, issues management, sponsorship development and content creation.
“Immediately prior to joining Destination NSW, Shane was responsible for marketing, communications, public relations and events at Salmat; an ASX listed marketing services company helping its clients to reach, convert and serve their customers and associated target markets.”
Mr McClelland said he was delighted to be joining the number one destination marketing and major events organisation in Australia.
“The reputation of Destination NSW for innovation and exceptional performance plus its outstanding track record of success, were all key for me. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of Destination NSW and promoting our state,” he said.
Mr McClelland will take up his role on 20 May.
