Queensland agent wins her own dream California STAR Road Trip itinerary
Thanks to California STAR, Visit California’s digital agent training platform and supplier directory, we are excited to announce the winner of this year’s #CaliforniaSTARRoadTrip agent incentive competition!
At the 2019 Visit USA (AU) / Discover America (NZ) expos, Visit California gave agents the opportunity to win their very own dream California road trip itinerary worth $5,000 USD. At the Visit California expo booth, agents could pick up supplies to customize their own California licence plate at home. Entrants then had two weeks following the expos to graduate California STAR and upload a photo of personalised California number plate to Facebook or Instagram, along with a caption explaining their dream road trip, hash tagging #CaliforniaSTARRoadTrip.
And the lucky winner is… Genevieve Hofman of Everton Park Flight Centre in Queensland
Genevieve completed Visit California’s STAR training modules before submitting her very own dream California road trip itinerary on Instagram. Her entry was chosen for its creativity, amazing diversity, and excellent knowledge of the state and suppliers, acquired through her STAR training.
With an outdoors adventure vibe running throughout, her winning road trip begins with a hike in the Santa Monica Mountains and refuelling at Grand Central Market in Downtown LA, before heading to Death Valley National Park for a Paleontology tour and sleeping under the stars. Next up, road tripping to Yosemite National Park for a zipline guided tour with Yosemite Ziplines & Adventure Ranch, then on to Lake Tahoe for a soak in Brockway Hot Springs. Her final hike will be in Redwood National Park to spot some of the tallest trees in the world, and her journey will end in San Francisco, checking out Golden Gate Bridge, the Mission Murals, and Fisherman’s’ Wharf. Congratulations Genevieve – we can’t wait to see you live out your dream trip in the Golden State!
California STAR gives agents the opportunity to train up on specific destinations around the state, and also be in the running to win prizes throughout the year. The modules are fast, easy to use, and extensive, covering useful information such as Getting Here, Sample Itineraries, Top Spots to Visit, Timing a Visit and Distance Between.
