Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay Wins Award for Design
Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay has been recognised with the highest design accolade in the 2018-19 NOW Travel Asia Awards, announced at a gala awards ceremony held at the Kempinski Hotel Chengdu China over the weekend.
An initiative of luxury marketing agency NOW Travel Asia, the awards began in 2012 and are decided based upon public votes recorded on the website nowtravelasiaawards.com.
“The Wyndham Grand brand endeavours to provide distinctive experiences to guests through excellent amenities, refined architectural design and custom finishes that leave a lasting impression,” said Dominic Egger, the resort’s General Manager. “Design is central to what we offer at Kalim Bay: it makes guest stays more appealing and refreshing, treats guests to better views of the incredible surrounds and improves accessibility.
“It is an honour to receive this accolade and we would like to thank our guests and members of the public who showed us their support. The award holds special significance to our team because it is based upon the opinions of past and potential guests.”
In the Asia’s Top Design Hotels category, Wyndham Grand Kalim Bay competed against 15 other finalists from Thailand, China, Malaysia and Singapore representing some of the world’s biggest hospitality brands.
Established in 2005, NOW Travel Asia is a luxury marketing agency with offices in Thailand and China and it is the publisher of the NOW Travel Asia magazine, which has a circulation of about 60,000 across Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, China and South Korea.
The 214-key Wyndham Grand Kalim Bay is nestled on the edge of a cliff with sweeping views of the Andaman Sea and features a full-service spa offering traditional Thai therapies, two outdoor swimming pools, fitness centre, kids’ club and a huge ballroom.
A key feature of the resort’s design is the 152 pool villas – the most in the Kalim-Patong area – which include either a six or nine-metre infinity pool.
