Scoot Flight TR734 SIN-TXL ScootinSilence Quiet Zone
19 August 2018
Flight Number: TR734 dep SIN @ 00:25
Class: ScootinSilence quiet zone
Aircraft: Boeing 787 Dreamliner
Boarding passes for this flight were issued on the previous connecting flight from Sydney, so there was no need to check in again since the airline’s ScootThru service also allows suitcases to be checked all the way to the final destination. The time between flights can be filled shopping, resting in a relaxation area, or taking a City Sights Tour, offered free to all passengers with sufficient time when transiting through Singapore’s Changi Airport (a tourist attraction in itself with multiple things to see and do). After seeing the principal sights of Singapore, passengers are escorted back to the terminal to board their flights.
The flight’s departure was delayed while waiting for a plane with connecting passengers to arrive at the airport. The plane touched down at Berlin’s Tegel Airport 50 minutes behind schedule.
The ScootinSilence quiet zone is the first section of Economy Class, directly behind ScootBiz Class. In order to preserve a calm atmosphere, no children under 12 are allowed in this section.
Food And Beverage:
Two meal services were offered, a snack soon after takeoff and a hot meal several hours before landing. Food and drinks were available to purchase throughout the flight.
Since Scoot does not have built-in entertainment systems, the few people who remained awake on this overnight flight made use of their own devices for entertainment.
Scoot uses a remote gate at TXL, so passengers disembarked the plane and boarded buses to go to the terminal building. There was no queue at Immigration and bags were delivered in a timely manner. Tegel Airport’s close-in location in western Berlin makes the short ride to the elegant Kurfürstendamm boulevard easy and pleasant. Travellers with vouchers for Berlin WelcomeCards can redeem them at Berlin Tourism‘s airport office and immediately use the WelcomeCard for transport on the airport bus that goes right along the nicest part of Kurfürstendamm, the route terminating at Zoo Station for connections to local, regional, and long-distance buses and trains.
Scoot continues to expand its flight network and now brings its successful business model to the German capital.
