TTF welcomes NSW Government’s short-term holiday letting plan
The Tourism & Transport Forum Australia (TTF) has welcomed today’s announcement by the NSW Government it will move to implement a number of key reforms governing short-term holiday rentals.
“The NSW Government must be congratulated on taking this step into the brave new world of the sharing economy by beginning to address the concerns of the new-style accommodation providers, strata committees and traditional accommodation providers,” TTF CEO Margy Osmond said.
“The Government has recognised that the accommodation industry is rapidly changing and to provide for a more level playing field there needs to be a number of sweeping reforms to how the sector is regulated.
“While TTF welcomes the Government’s decision to review these changes in 12 months’ time, we are also calling on the Government to ensure that over the course of the next year there is an effective and transparent monitoring process in place.
“TTF will look to work with the Government and new and traditional accommodation providers to see that there is stringent oversight during this time.”
