New research from online travel insurance provider InsureandGo has revealed which Australian celebrities Australians would most like to have as their travel sidekick.

The survey of 2,700 respondents found that Hugh Jackman was the most sought after travel partner, with one in three (34 percent) Australians picking him as their top travel partner, followed by Chris Hemsworth (13 percent), Jennifer Hawkins (10 percent), Margot Robbie (7 percent), Delta Goodrem (6 percent) and Karl Stefanovic (3 percent).

“As one of the country’s most successful stars, it comes as no surprise that two in five (41 percent) women would opt to travel with actor, singer and producer Hugh Jackman as their first choice. But it’s not just the women who are in awe of his talent as one in four (26 percent) man would also choose Jackman as their travel companion too. said David Mayo, eCommerce Manager at InsureandGo.

With leading roles in Thor, The Avengers and Star Trek, Chris Hemsworth has certified his position as one of Australia’s most prolific talents, however he also frequently tops the charts for being one of the most attractive men in the industry. The second most favoured option for females, one in five (19 percent) women chose Hemsworth as their travel partner while former Miss Universe and model Jennifer Hawkins proves to be a popular choice for the men of Australia, who selected her as their most favoured travel partner (16 percent).

Whether travelling solo, with your family or with the celebrity of your dreams, it’s important to factor in the cost of travel insurance to ensure any incidents that do occur don’t affect the rest of your trip, or your back pocket. For example, holiday makers travelling internationally benefit from unlimited medical, surgical and hospital cover, regardless of what level of insurance they purchase from us,” said Mr Mayo.

“For the average Australian, an unexpected $50,000 medical bill can mean the difference between living life with peace of mind or trying to recover from crippling and irreversible debt” said Mr Mayo.

Much like Australia’s favourite local celebrities, those who travel frequently can benefit from InsureandGo’s Annual Multi-Trip travel insurance, which covers all the essentials needed to ensure each trip runs smoothly. For example, if unforeseen circumstances arise back home, travellers covered by Silver Sum Insurance will be insured for up to $15,000 for any costs related to returning home, as well as $15,000 for additional emergency expenses.

Whether travelling within Australia or internationally, InsureandGo offers a spectrum of policies to suit every traveller, providing travellers with a safety net to ensure they are taken care of wherever they are, at their most vulnerable.
