Rugby fever hits Hong Kong
To kick off the forty-third Hong Kong Rugby Sevens tournament today, a gigantic 25-metre inflatable rugby ball has taken over the iconic Victoria Harbour.
The ten storey rugby ball is just the beginning of the festivities though, with a variety of events set to entertain visitors and locals alike across the cosmopolitan city from 6 to 8 April 2018.
Other highlights include: the Hong Kong Sevens kick-off concert at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Wanchai; Lee Gardens carnival in Causeway Bay featuring a StreetMAZE Hunt with series of Hong Kong culture-inspired street art; and the Fanwalk featuring live entertainment, street artists and food stalls along Yun Ping Road.
Established in 1976, 2018 marks the tournaments forty-third year and will feature 77 matches with players from 40 nations, making it the largest tournament in the World Rugby Sevens Series.
