My Travel Group ‘Stay Connected’ with a successful conference
Record numbers of My Travel Group (MTG) agents were in attendance in Byron Bay last weekend for the annual ‘Stay Connected’ conference.
MTG members from around the country converged at Elements of Byron for this years’ event.
An insightful weekend of learning and networking was highlighted by briefings delivered by industry representatives from Anzcro, The Intrepid Group, APT, Qantas Holidays, Cover-More Insurance, TravelCube, HR Central, Qantas Airways and Air Tickets.
Head of Corporate, Associate and Affiliate Networks at Helloworld Travel David Padman opened the conference, outlining the outstanding progress and growth of MTG since it formed in April 2016, with 800 independent agents and over 100 preferred partners now supporting the network.
“The MTG network was built by our members for our members, utilising their individual strengths and like-minded ideals to create a sustainable and successful model, which is now Australia’s largest independent affiliate network” he said. “Our strategies to continue to evolve and deliver to our agents centres around three key areas; keeping our agents relevant, driving sustainability and supporting individual success”.
Additional conference topics around ‘Travel Tech’ and ‘The Future of Travel’, gave agents further positive insight into today’s technology pathway to transactional efficiency.
Entertainer and mentalist Anthony Laye kept the mood light as he messed with the minds of the delegates, demonstrating how to best read their customers.
Closing out the conference, Helloworld Travel CEO Andrew Burnes reiterated the importance of technology to the success of the travel industry as a support medium, not a replacement for the travel agent.
Mr Burnes concluded with his commitment to future proofing the business and our agency networks through investment in technology, in training, in new products and increased brand profile.
My Travel Group’s next ‘Stay Connected’ conference is scheduled for March 2019.
