Rosby Wines & Guesthouse announce 2018 artistic program
Mudgee Region’s Rosby Wines & Guesthouse has announced an exciting new program of art and sculpture workshops for 2018, showcasing a diverse range of traditional and modern sculpture, painting, drawing, woodfire cooking and welding techniques.
Catering for all levels of experience, each workshop is led by highly experienced artists in their relevant discipline, bringing a wealth of knowledge and inspiring students to explore their creative thinking.
Participants will be able to gain a rare insight into the experience and talents of working artists in amazing locations such as Rosby’s established gardens, the vineyard, a hand-built mud hut and restored shearing shed overlooking the valley.
A new addition to the line-up is woodfire cooking with Pip Sumbak from Pip’s Plate. Set outdoors with an incredible vineyard vista, learn various techniques for cooking over fire or embers. Then prepare and cook a set of seasonal dishes from locally sourced produce before sharing them over a long lunch matched with Rosby wines.
Following the success of last year’s ‘Art + Wine in the Vines’, this year’s program includes two new workshops, Life Drawing & Abstract painting. Enjoy an all-inclusive wine, art and gourmet food experience in one of Mudgee’s most picturesque settings.
The annual Sculptures In The Garden exhibition is again set to make its mark on the NSW artistic calendar in October. Growing in popularity year-on-year, the iconic two-day event draws a breadth of established and emerging talent in an expertly curated outdoor exhibition. “We are thrilled to have a high calibre of artists and creatives coming to Rosby to share their knowledge,” says Kay Norton-Knight, Rosby’s own resident artist and driver of the artistic program.
Cara George, CEO of Mudgee Region Tourism says, “Mudgee Region offers travellers the chance to skip town and indulge in the region’s unique experiences. The extensive art workshop schedule on offer at Rosby Wines & Guesthouse means there is no better time to getaway for a mini-break.”
Rosby offers discounted residential packages to workshop participants in its luxury guesthouse, making the classes perfect for large groups of friends or family and visitors to the Mudgee Region.
