Taj Mahal continues restorations in 2018

Tailored holiday specialist, Adventure World, is reminding agents of the ongoing restoration work on the Taj Mahal this year, essential to preserve the ancient history of the renowned marble mausoleum that attracts up to eight million visitors each year.

With work on the main dome to begin in India’s off-season month of April, work won’t be completed until November 2018. However, this shouldn’t stop your clients from travelling to this vibrant country, with so much to see outside of Agra.

With over 25 itineraries in India alone, Adventure World is advising agents that there is a plethora of cultural and heritage wonders to see and experience from the pink city of Jaipur, to discovering the diversity of Old Delhi or visiting Pench National Park, rich in wildlife including the chance to spot the Royal Bengal tiger.

“Nothing is more important than ensuring that the heritage of this wonder of the world is preserved for years to come and while guests will still be able to visit the Taj Mahal, photographers might not be able to get that perfect frame-worthy shot they’re after. However, once you’re standing in front of this beautiful building at sunrise, it’ll be hard to beat that awe-inspiring feeling,” commented Adventure World managing director Neil Rodgers.

On Adventure World’s Handpicked North India itinerary, guests can take a dawn boat ride on the Ganges River in Varanasi for a spectacular view of ceremonies performed along the river, or head to the romantic suburb of Udaipur for great restaurants and a visit to the ornate City Palace.
