Norway’s new Honorary Consul-General in Melbourne, Victoria
The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Canberra is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Tietse Stelma as Norway’s Honorary Consul-General in Melbourne, Victoria.
Melbourne has a rich Norwegian history with established people-to-people links. Melbourne has historically been, and continues to be, the port of call for many Norwegians as well as Norwegian commercial activity, particularly in the maritime sector.
Mr Stelma is the co-founder of the Nordic specialist tour operator, 50 Degrees North. The 50 Degrees North office is now the home of the Norwegian Honorary Consulate-General in Melbourne.
Tietse has worked in the travel industry since the early 90’s in Norway, working with off the beaten track travel. Born far North of the Arctic Circle, and subsequently growing up in the outer Oslo Fjord, Tietse has a close connection to Norway.
The Royal Norwegian Embassy thanks the outgoing Honorary Consul-General, Mr Tomm Paulsen for his dedication and contribution to advancing Norway’s interests and proudly serving the Norwegian community in Victoria since 1996.
