The Philippine Department of Tourism and Philippine Club Tours were delighted to host Bernard Foley, Australian rugby player, at a selection of championship golf courses in the Philippines. As a guest of Philippine Club Tours, Bernard Foley was accompanied by the company’s Director, Richard Miller. Miller said,
“We are delighted to welcome Bernard to the Philippines. The country has a range of courses for all levels of experience, set against a stunning, tropical background. The first stop on the tour was the Orchard Golf and Country Club where Bernard enjoyed a great round in fantastic conditions. The following day Bernard played at the famous Riviera Golf and Country Langar course, which is surrounded by a beautiful backdrop of rolling hills and undulating greens and offers a more challenging course. A visit to Tagaytay gave Bernard the chance to play at the Splendido Golf Course, an outstanding 18-hole, Greg Norman designed course with sweeping views across the Tagaytay region.”
The Philippines has over 50 golf courses, catering to golfers of all levels. Many of the courses have been designed by championship golfers such as Jack Nicklaus, Fred Couples, Bernhard Langer, Isao Aoki, Nick Faldo, and Australia’s very own Greg Norman.
Bernard Foley, said,
“I had an amazing time putting my golfing skills to the test in the Philippines. The various courses put me through my paces and were definitely up to par! Driving and putting whilst overlooking volcanoes, lakes, and mountains offers a fantastic holiday and a unique golfing experience. I’m looking forward to a few more golfing trips to the Philippines in 2018.”
In addition, Bernard enjoyed a selection of dining options in Manila, including the Fireplace at New World Manila Bay, Yukatan at the Diamond and Peoples Palace at Greenbelt 3. Bernard, in conjunction with Philippine Club Tours, is planning some exciting golf tours to the Philippines in 2018 featuring the best golf courses, hotels and restaurants available.
Norjamin Delos Reyes, Tourism Attaché at Philippines Department of Tourism Australia and New Zealand, said,
“Golfing has been a pastime in the Philippines since the 19th Century, when the British first introduced it. Since then it has grown in popularity and, as a result, we now offer golf enthusiasts the opportunity to play on competition and tournament greens, designed by some of the best players in the world. Following a round of golf, visitors to the Philippines can enjoy the delicious Filipino cuisine and take in the stunning landscapes of our beautiful country.”
