Coral Expeditions release first brochure for new ship
Coral Expeditions, Australia’s pioneering cruise line, has released its first brochure for their new expedition cruise vessel, the Coral Adventurer.
The fourth and biggest vessel in the specialised, Australian-owned fleet, the Coral Adventurer’s maiden voyage on April 24, 2019 will be from a series of themed itineraries called “In the trail of Tasman”. This trail retraces the historic explorations of Dutch explorer Abel Tasman, who was the first to map the coastlines of New Zealand, New Guinea and Northern Australia in the seventeenth century. The 18-night cruise will begin in Singapore and finish in Darwin, Australia.
Apart from picking up the Tasman trail, the Coral Adventurer will disembark guests using its trademark ‘Xplorer’ tender mechanism directly on Anak Krakatau, the famed volcanic island emerging from the middle of the ocean in the Sunda Straits. Other highlights include Komodo Island, home of the famed dragons and the coral gardens of remote Pulau Alor, which offers some of the best snorkeling in the region. The combination of history, wildlife and marine activity offered by this epic expedition voyage promises to be unique.
Following the inaugural voyage, the Coral Adventurer will undertake the 10-night “In the trail of Tasman II” which marks the 375th anniversary of the second of Tasman’s great voyages. Departing from Darwin on May 13, 2019, guests will experience the crossroads of civilization in this adventure to rarely visited West Papua; looping through remote islands, seeking out ancient rock art at Kei Island and visiting the emerald waters of Triton Bay.
Thereafter, the Coral Adventurer will slip into the regular Kimberley season between Broome and Darwin, which Coral Expeditions has been operating for 24 years. The ship will then cruise into the Gulf of Carpentaria in Cape York & Arnhem Land, New Guinea and the Spice Islands & Raja Ampat.
The 2019 brochure also includes new itinerary “Komodo Dragons & Krakatoa” which is a 17-night cruise from Darwin winding its way to finish in vibrant Singapore. Departing January 2020, this ultimate expedition voyage will uncover the diversity of the Indonesian archipelago, with a chance to swim, snorkel and dive the incomparable coral reefs around the Thousand Islands, Karimunjawa Marine Park and Lombok. Guests will spot endangered species at Ujung Kulon National Park and see the iconic Komodo Dragons in their natural habitat.
These voyages are designed to showcase the expedition capabilities of the Coral Adventurer; conceived and built to take guests to remote areas inaccessible to larger or less capable vessels.
Staterooms on the Coral Adventurer are priced from $9,690 per person twin share, and will remain all-inclusive with daily excursions, meals and beverages including beer and wine at meals.
The 60 cabins on board the Coral Adventurer will be outside-facing with majority having French windows and private balconies. Two spacious Bridge Deck Balcony suites will feature a lounge area, a special King-sized bed and a unique outside-facing bathroom with picture windows.
The 120 passengers of the Coral Adventurer can look forward to elegant and vibrant living spaces designed to show off the amazing locations the ship will visit. There are multiple indoor and outdoor bars with lounge seating inviting guests to sit back and watch the panorama unfold outside. A guest observation lounge located in the bridge (a Coral Expeditions trademark) will allow guests to immerse themselves in the navigation activity. The ship will be equipped with a passenger elevator and Wi-Fi throughout the guest areas.
