Travel Counsellors head office staff support mum’s in need
Christmas is a time for giving to those less fortunate than ourselves, but come January, that charitable spirit can sometimes be forgotten. Staff at the Australia office for Travel Counsellors decided to abandon the traditional December Kris Kringle and gathered all their lotto winnings and coffee money to fill a van with nappies for delivery to local charity, St Kilda mums.
Donating to a charity like St Kilda Mums is a direct and practical way to help families experiencing hardship or violence. The charity relies on donations from the community and distributed over $5 million of material aid last year. Travel Counsellors General Manager Australia, Tracy Parkinson said: “We are very proud to support this local charity. As a mum, it can be a daunting experience having a baby particularly if you don’t have a support structure behind you, so we are comforted that we can bring some peace of mind to these families.”
