Launch of first summer season of Flash Camp Glamping

For the first time, one of the most beautiful camping locations on the NSW South Coast, Coolendel, on the Shoalhaven River, will offer an extended season of summer ‘glamping’. And the good news for those who are yet to organise their Christmas holidays this year is that tents at the just-launched ‘Flash Camp’ are available over the peak Christmas-New Year period and right through Easter to May 2018.

The success of the first Flash Camp at Coolendel, 2.5 hours south of Sydney and 30 mins from Nowra, during the Easter and Anzac day holidays in April this year has pegged the way for an extended season this summer, which has just started. Flash Camp is Australia’s leading provider of temporary camping services.

The private Flash Camp at Coolendel adjoins the public campsite which comprises 52 hectares of ancient bushland on the peaceful riverbanks of the Shoalhaven River. The adventure commences when guests reach the well maintained, but unsealed road for a 25-minute journey into the wilderness. Here, Coolendel offers the ultimate camping adventure with secluded, grassy areas and home to an abundance of wildlife such as wombats, wallabies and native birds. Visitors can enjoy bushwalking, photography, canoeing, biking and fishing as well as camp-based games, or simply chill out in the natural surroundings.

Ideal for couples or groups of friends and families with children, the spacious, six-metre-diameter Bell tents accommodate up to four people, complete with either a king-sized mattress or single mattresses on slats. All Flash Tents have solar lighting, a table and chairs, ‘Biology’ toiletries, timber chest, Pony Rider décor, Armadillo & Co rugs, its own campfire brazier and grill and all bedding and equipment. For balmy nights under the stars with friends old and new, there is a communal Flash Camp lounge area with cover, seating, fairy lights and a BBQ and stoves for sheltered cooking plus a wash-up facility. Guests of the Flash Camp share the regular, nearby Coolendel campsite amenities of hot showers and toilets.

“Glamping at Coolendel is the perfect getaway to recharge and reconnect with nature and loved ones this summer without all the hassles of preparing the camping gear,” says Ben Hutchings from Flash Camp. “We keep just five tents at the site but can add more for groups looking to take over the whole camp for a special event,” he said. “Just a short drive from Sydney, it feels like a world away, offering a stunning, natural and unspoilt bush location on the banks of the Shoalhaven River – ideal for cooling off in the summer sun.”

Flash Tents at Coolendel are available on a minimum, two-night-stay basis, with prices ranging from $130 per double, per night midweek to $198 per double, per night on weekends. During the Christmas and New Year period, (December 26- January 7), a three-night minimum stay applies, with prices at $240 per double, per night.
These unique Flash Tents are available at Coolendel from November 24 to May 30, 2018. Rates cover tent hire and facilities, with campers bringing their own food and towels.
