Piling on further industry accolades for MTA – Mobile Travel Agents this week, business development manager QLD, WA and Northern NSW , Sally Gorringe has been nominated for a 2017 ‘Women in Travel – Mentor of the year’ award.

The award recognises individuals who have mentored and championed women within their organisations, made a significant contribution to the retention, progression, satisfaction or development of individuals or groups of females within their organisation and overall, proved an inspiration to others.

In her time with the mobile travel agency pioneer brand Sally has done just that, actively encouraging and assisting her MTA Members to expand their customer databases and really get to know their existing  customers so as to provide amazing travel experiences for them.

Sally says her biggest thrill is joining MTA Members on their personal journey from day one with the company right through to enjoying their success and, importantly, showing them that they truly can balance life and career while  still enjoying the thrill of travelling.

Joining MTA in February 2014, a move CEO, Don Beattie described at the time as “a pure gold recruitment coup” for the company, Sally’s industry experience spans more than 25 years in retail and sales management roles.

This includes 10 years with the UTAG travel network in NSW/ACT and subsequently, senior sales roles with MSC Cruises and Insight Vacations.

“Sally, with her  considerable travel industry knowledge and skill and having run her own business,  really gets the home working model,” Mr Beattie said.

“Her key focus with MTA has always been to assist consultants and agency owners  looking to take that first step into the home-based model, to actually do it and then support them on their journey.

“She has done exactly that and is very very deserved of this fantastic industry recognition.

“MTA has by design always had the industry leading support team and we take great pride in the success and recognition of both our membership and staff. We are truly blessed by having some of the best of both.

“Everyone in the MTA family wishes Sally the very best of luck at the awards on Monday night.”

Sally’s ‘Women in Travel’ nomination follows MTA Member Amber Halleday’s achievement in reaching the finals of the 2017 Avis Travel Agent Scholarship and inhouse school-based trainee Alicia Faulkner being named Robina State High School ‘Trainee of the Year’.
