The International Internal Audit Conference, which carries the theme ‘Connecting the World Through Innovation”, will offer a unique opportunity to interact with and learn from the world’s most dynamic business and thought leaders during insightful and interactive sessions on disruptive technology, artificial intelligence, innovation, and other highly relevant topics in today’s dynamic business environment. The conference will feature 10 educational tracks covering more than 70 topics related to the Internal Audit profession- Digitisation, Business Sustainability, Emerging Concepts, Governance and Risks, Fraud and Corruption, Dynamic Internal Auditing, Information Security, People and Relationship, CIA Exam Review, Regional Language Sessions and Public-Sector Auditing.
Abdulqader Obaid Ali, Chairman, UAE-IAA, said: “Hosting a premier conference of this level not only reflects Dubai’s prominence as the leading hub for international conferences, this also sends across a message about the significance of efforts of Dubai and the UAE towards implementing international best practices across all organisations and facilitating dialogue on a larger platform towards taking best practices in businesses worldwide to a higher level’
Following the UAE-IAA’s successful bidding to host the international conference, prominent business leaders and internal audit experts from the UAE held a series of interactions and discussions with their international counterparts leaders and members regarding the conference.
These meetings, along with Dubai’s predominance as a preferred destination for international meetings (it was ranked among the world’s top 10 destinations for international meetings in 2016), generated a strong interest from global business leaders and decision-makers to participate in the premier event.
The journey to promote the international conference started with a delegation from Dubai attending the IIA’s International Conference in Sydney, where Matar Al Mansoori, UAE Deputy Chief of Mission to Australia, received the international conference flag on behalf of the UAE.
Ayesha Bin Lootah, Board of Governors Member at the UAE IAA Board of Governance, said: “With the UAE introducing value added tax into the system, the role of audit has become even more significant; sharing of international best practices around the world can happen in this platform”. “The IIA International Conference in Dubai is a premier event for the business community worldwide. We received a tremendous response for participation during our visit to the UK National Conference from decision-makers, experts and professionals, who are not only keen to be part of this prestigious conference, but also eager to explore Dubai, which has established itself as one of the world’s leading destinations for international conferences and is among the top tourism, commerce, and business destinations. The response has been equally encouraging from other countries including South Korea, Malaysia, Australia, Canada and Indonesia. We foresight a successful conference ahead.”
Abdulqader Obaid Ali, Chairman of UAE-IAA, visited the State Audit Institution in Kuwait and also the IIA Korea, where he addressed a seminar for the Chief Audit Executives.
