Travellers Choice members prepare to meet tomorrow’s consumer
One of Australia’s most renowned experts on retail trends will provide Travellers Choice agents with a rare glimpse of the ‘future consumer’ in November, when the national retail network’s members gather at Perth’s six-star Crown Towers Complex for the 2017 Annual Shareholders’ Conference.
In line with the 2017 Conference theme – ‘20/20 Vision’ – Travellers Choice has invited Amanda Stevens, one of the country’s most sought-after authorities on the forces shaping tomorrow’s consumer, to take members on a journey into the retail future.
Stevens, who spent more than 15 years at the helm of her own marketing and research agency, now consults on consumer trends to a wide range of retailers, banks, insurance companies, franchise groups and political parties in Australia and the United States.
A former Young Australian of the Year (Career Achievement in NSW), she has also been honoured as the 2000 Sydney Young Businesswoman of the Year Award and 2003 recipient of the prestigious Centenary Medal from the Governor General for Business Innovation.
Travellers Choice Managing Director Christian Hunter says that in addition to sharing insights on how the group’s members can gain a competitive advantage by anticipating the future needs of their customers, Stevens will lead a series of workshops.
“Amanda has a proven ability to inspire people to look afresh at how they engage with their customers,” says Hunter. “Just as importantly, she will offer our members practical advice on how they can better predict and meet their customers’ needs in order to grow their businesses.”
Travellers Choice members will also hear from one of Australia’s most admired motivational speakers, former Olympic gymnast Brennon Dowrick.
One of Australia’s most successful gymnasts, Dowrick represented his country at two Olympic Games, seven World Championships and three Commonwealth Games, where he became the first Australian to win a gold medal in gymnastics. He currently serves on the Gymnastics Australia Board and is Chair of the organisation’s High Performance Committee.
In a unique presentation, he will explore some simple but effective strategies Travellers Choice members can embrace in order to attain personal goals and achieve business targets.
As well as looking to the future, Travellers Choice will celebrate 40 years of success at its 2017 Annual Shareholders’ Conference, with the three-day event including a black-tie gala dinner at the Crown Towers Complex on the banks of the Swan River.
