Save on Ecuador holiday including Galapagos cruise and stay in Ecuador’s newest luxury hotel
Book by September 29, 2017, and travel until December 2018
Contours Travel is offering savings of up to $2860 per couple on a new, seven-day holiday package in Ecuador including a cruise through the wildlife-rich Galapagos Islands and a stay in a luxurious new boutique hotel in Quito opening this September.
A world-renowned nature sanctuary, Ecuador’s Galapagos Islands were made famous in 1835 by naturalist Charles Darwin who visited the archipelago as part of a five-year voyage which led to his iconic study ‘The Origin of Species’. Today, the islands boast more than 26 species found nowhere else on earth, including giant Galapagos tortoises – the largest in the world, with some measuring more than 1.5m in length.
Contours Travel’s seven-day Ecuador package can be taken in 2017 until December 20 or in 2018, also until December 20. The package includes a three-night stay in the brand, new Illa Experience Hotel in the colonial heritage capital of Quito. Opening in September, 2017, the boutique hotel is a restored, colonial mansion and is located in Quito’s colourful, artists precinct.
The package also includes a guided ‘Six Senses’ tour on foot through Quito’s old city. The six-hour tour includes visits to artisan shops, chocolate factories, hidden sweet shops and a lunch showcasing local cuisines.
The tour then moves west to Ecuador’s world-famous Galapagos Islands for a four-night cruise aboard the 16-passenger Sea Star Journey yacht, which enables guests to enjoy personal encounters with the islands’ renowned wildlife, including iguanas, flamingos, waved albatross and the striking red-footed boobies.
After landing in the Galapagos Islands from the mainland, guests will board the Sea Star Journey on Baltra Island and cruise to Dragon Hill on Santa Cruz Island – home to a large population of iguanas as well as flamingoes in the saltwater lagoon. Guests will paddle kayaks on crystal clear waters filled with sea-turtles at Black Turtle Cove and visit Darwin Bay, where an abundance of birds can be found, from red-footed boobies and swallow-tailed gulls to lava herons and finches. A call at the volcanically active island of Santiago is also included in the cruise.
The seven-day package, including the hotel stay, cruise, Quito tour and airport transfers in Ecuador is now available from $5070 per person, twin-share, for travel until December 20, 2017 – a saving of $1430 per person. If travelling in 2018 before December 20, the package is priced from $5525 per person, twin-share – a saving of $1125 per person. The discounts are available for bookings made by September 29, 2017. Flights from Australia and between Quito and the Galapagos Islands are extra and can be booked through Contours Travel.
The package is one of a range of discounted holiday packages to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands offered by Contours Travel, Australia’s longest-running Latin American tourism operator.
