PONANT releases Luxury Expeditions brochure
PONANT, the world leader in Luxury Expedition cruises, has released its first brochure focussed entirely on its expanding range of global expedition voyages.
Monique Ponfoort, Vice President PONANT Asia Pacific announced: “This all-new 112 page “Luxury Expeditions” brochure, exclusively features 65 polar and tropical expeditions scheduled for June 2018 to May 2019, with itineraries that include the Arctic, Iceland and Alaska in the North, to the Antarctic, South Georgia and Chilean fjords in the South.
Tropical expedition itineraries highlight Borneo, West Papua, Indonesia, Melanesia, Polynesia, the Seychelles and Latin America including the Amazon and Orinoco rivers. Closer to home expeditions explore the remote Sub Antarctic Islands and Australia’s own Kimberley region.
These expedition voyages may explore the outer reaches yet they are done so with the comfort and the eco-responsibility befitting the world’s youngest fleet of luxury expedition cruise ships.”
The brochure includes inaugural expeditions for two of PONANT’s latest additions to its fleet. To be launched in 2018, Le Champlain and Le Lapérouse will join Le Boreal, L’Austral and Le Soleal to undertake expedition voyages ranging in duration from 7 nights to 21 nights that combine luxury with immersive experiences.
For the truly adventurous, the ability to combine back-to-back voyages to create Grand Voyages that can take you, for example, from Costa Rica to French Guiana, concluding 41 days later in Manaus, Brazil. A true South American adventure all onboard PONANT’s brand new luxury expedition cruise ship Le Champlain.
Or perhaps consider a 54 night Grand Voyage of exploration from Ushuaia in Argentina to the East coast of Africa and on to the Seychelles via the remote British Overseas Territory of Tristan da Cunha.
Closer to home a true expedition: the linking of shorter voyages to create a 46 nights island hopping between Auckland and Darwin via New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, West Papua and the Indonesian Moluccas. A combination of itineraries that together provide more than just a window into Australia’s near neighbours, this is an opportunity to connect and understand their diverse and fascinating cultures.
The essential element of modern day expedition exploration is travel under the watchful and caring eyes of highly regarded Expedition Teams – experts in their various fields, which may include, depending on your cruise, marine biologists, naturalists, diplomats, artists, historians, distinguished academics, explorers, anthropologists, ecologists and scientists who share their knowledge with guests. Typically these expedition voyages include regular background presentations relevant to the area travelled in, plus use of Zodiacs for remote area landings and enhanced exploration.
Some voyages currently have a 30% Ponant Bonus available however fares are yield managed and savings reduce according to the number of cabins sold.
