New Qantas points earn opportunity on Qantas Club Membership

From today Qantas Frequent Flyers will have a new way to earn Qantas Points.

Bronze and Silver members can now earn three Qantas Points for every dollar they spend on their join and annual Qantas Club membership fee using cash or their bank card.

Gold, Platinum and Platinum One Frequent Flyers will continue to have complimentary Qantas lounge access as part of their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership tier benefits.

This means Qantas Frequent Flyer members with a Qantas Points earning card like the Qantas Premier Mastercard could earn five points per dollar on their Qantas Club join or renewal payments as using this credit card on Qantas spend means members earn two points per dollar. For example, members who purchase a four year Individual membership using a Qantas Premier credit card could earn 9,250 Qantas Points – enough for a return Classic Flight Reward from Sydney to Melbourne.

Qantas Frequent Flyers will continue to have the option of using Qantas Points to join or renew their membership, but will not earn points on the redemption.

Customers have a choice of renewal periods with Individual and Partner membership options of one, two or four years and Corporate membership options of one or two years. The longer the renewal period, the greater the savings.

Qantas Business Rewards members will continue to receive 10 per cent off the Qantas Club Individual Membership fees (including join and membership fees).

There is no increase to the Guest membership fees: valid for 12 months, the Annual Guest Card allows one additional guest to enter the lounge if accompanied the Individual member.

For the first time in three years, there are also new Qantas Club join and renewal membership fees with a small price increase of less than six per cent on Individual, Partner, and Corporate memberships to reflect the investment made in new lounge facilities across the network. For example, the one year Individual membership will increase from $510 to $540 which would earn Qantas Frequent Flyer members 1,620 Qantas Points if paying with cash or card.

For Qantas Frequent Flyer members who choose to use points rather than cash to join or renew Qantas Club membership, the number of Qantas Points required for redemption will also increase.
