Discover L.A. invites Aussie travellers to embark on a culinary road-trip during dineL.A.

This July, Summer dineL.A. kicks off for 15 days, encompassing two weekends of value-driven menus starting at USD$15. Taking place 14-28 July, 2017, the biannual food event spotlights the city’s rich, culinary diversity and features more than 300 restaurants throughout Los Angeles.

“Summer roadtrip,” is this season’s dineL.A. theme – inviting guests to travel to and throughout the city eating their way across the various neighbourhoods and a diverse variety of cuisines. Tying into the roadtrip theme, Gary Baseman, Emmy award-winning creator of ABC/Disney’s animation series Teacher’s Pet and collaborator with luxury brand COACH, has designed a map featuring iconic Los Angeles landmarks and restaurants that will be included in the dineL.A. Roadtrip Guide. The guide also contains a list of participating restaurants divided by neighbourhoods, a helpful tool that diners can print from the dineL.A. website or pick up at visitor information centres throughout the city.

“Nearing its ten-year anniversary, dineL.A. has supported and promoted the city’s growing dynamic and diverse culinary cuisine,” says dineL.A.’s Polly Peak. “During this 15-day event, we celebrate a wealth of culinary talent creating globally-inspired cuisine that offers diners an exciting opportunity to travel throughout our welcoming city savouring eclectic flavours and ingredients from all over the world.”

For a second season, dineL.A. once again partners with the California Avocado Commission to feature California avocado-centric dishes from some of the best chefs in the city including:

  • Akasha Richmond – AR Cucina
  • Chandra Gilbert – Gracias Madre
  • David Lefevre – Fishing with Dynamite
  • Josiah Citrin – Charcoal Venice
  • Neal Fraser – Redbird
  • Nick Erven – Erven
  • Ted Hopson – The Bellwether

Diners can also feast at a range of options including newcomers such as Officine BRERA, Odys + Penelope, The Ponte, and timeless favourites like Spago, Border Grill, and Chaya. Additional participants include celebrated restaurants, such as Alimento, Connie & Ted’s, a.o.c., and more.

Another popular and returning program is the Exclusive Series, presented by American Express, offering diners a chance to experience some of L.A.’s most luxurious restaurants at a value-driven price beginning at USD$95, such as Providence, ink., and BOA Steakhouse. Diners can visit the dineL.A. website to book reservations.

Summer dineL.A.’s specially-priced lunch menus are USD$15, $20, and $25, with dinner menus priced at USD$29, $39, and $49. American Express is also offering diners a way to save during the promotion. Diners can sign up and use their American Express card at all participating restaurants to receive USD$5 off their final bill of USD$25 or more.

Diners are encouraged to share their Summer dineL.A. experiences by participating in the Dine. Snap. Win.Instagram contest sponsored by American Airlines. Participants simply snap a photo of their dineL.A. dish, using the hashtag #DineSnapWin, and include the restaurant name to be entered into the contest where one winner will receive 100,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® miles. The contest is valid for the dates of Summer dineL.A.
