Qantas Frequent Flyers get new app experience
Qantas Frequent Flyers logging into their account via the Qantas App will notice some changes have been made to the app.
The Qantas App has been updated to give Qantas Frequent Flyer members a new opportunity to personalise their Frequent Flyer content and see how many Status Credits are required to reach the next tier and examples of how to get there. Silver Frequent Flyers with 620 Status Credits may be shown an example of how they can reach Gold by purchasing a one way Business fare from Melbourne to Perth. This fare would earn them 4,400 Qantas Points and 80 Status Credit, taking their balance to 700 Status Credits and give them all the benefits of a Gold Frequent Flyer membership, such as global lounge privileges and preferential access to selected Qantas Classic Flight Reward seats.
A new ‘Feed’ tab will encourage members to personalise and prioritise articles and offers they see on the app. They can do this by selecting content they want to see more of and removing less relevant content. The content includes articles on ways members can earn and use their Qantas Points, Qantas Points and partner offers, as well as travel inspiration based on their recent travel searches and behaviours.
Security and privacy controls are also being improved with customer personal details now masked in the app and two-factor authentication for personal detail changes soon to be implemented. The two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security and means members will be sent an SMS verification code to confirm their changes before updates are made to their accounts.
In addition to hosting membership information, content and offers, the Qantas App continues to feature travel-related content and entertainment as the single app for the full travel lifecycle experience, from the beginning to the end of a journey.
Recent updates to the app also mean Qantas customers can now:
- Check out their entertainment options before they fly and view what movies will be playing on their upcoming flight
- Manage their check in and seating preferences and view their flight status from the home page of the app.
- Customers who download or launch the Qantas App and complete the competition entry form before 31 July 2017 will go in the draw to win one of five $3,000 flight vouchers.
Qantas Loyalty CEO Lesley Grant says “giving our Frequent Flyers the choice to select what content they want means they can personalise the Qantas App and easily access the information that’s most relevant to them by simply logging in.”
