Travel Counsellors continues to grow corporate travel arm of business with two-day workshop in Melbourne
A group of Travel Counsellors recently travelled to Melbourne to attend a two-day workshop focused on building the corporate travel side of their home-based businesses. Held at the Travel Counsellors head office, the workshop was hosted by corporate business development managers, Simon Gatt and Marg Newbigin.
Over two days, the Travel Counsellors learned how to improve their corporate business portfolio and increase sales from their existing corporate client base. Sharing their expert knowledge with the attendees, the presenters were able to motivate the group to implement new sales techniques and adopt a fresh approach to securing new corporate clients.
Simon Gatt enjoyed presenting the group with new ideas and insights about business travel. “With Travel Counsellors experiencing another record year of business travel sales in 2016, it’s great to see the company continuing to invest in the personal development and resourcing of Travel Counsellors as they expand their corporate travel client base,” says Simon.
Suzanne Watson of Queensland believes that the knowledge shared during this workshop will change her business for the better. “This year I set the intention of increasing my corporate travel client base. I am always looking for new ways to improve my business and expand my offering, and this workshop really delivered exactly what I was looking for. I am looking forward to implementing my new business plan and increasing the number of corporate clients I have on my books,” comments Suzanne.
“With a strong background in selling leisure travel, I’m only just beginning to understand how the world of business travel is so very different from leisure travel. The tips and ideas I got from this workshop are truly invaluable – there are so many elements I had never thought of. I hope to do more business travel bookings this year, so this knowledge will be so helpful when approaching corporate travel clients,” says Heidi Smithers of Queensland
David Hughes, Managing Director Travel Counsellors Australia comments, “Last year was our biggest year for corporate travel, showing that corporate travellers want their travel arrangements taken care of by professionals with years of expertise in the industry. We will continue to make investments like this as the year unfolds, as we strongly believe that education and knowledge-sharing is key to the sales process,” says David. “Corporate travel is a significant part of our business and we anticipate the demand that we’re currently experiencing will continue well into the future.”
