Exclusive Tokyo Corporate Educational a hit with Personal Travel Managers
For AFL fans the thought of leaving the country on grand final day would be unthinkable. However, for TravelManagers’ personal travel manager (PTM) Jeremy Ferguson representative for Brunswick West and a passionate Western Bulldogs fan, flying to Tokyo on Japan Airlines on grand final day proved not to be a problem.
“With the WIFI on board streaming watching the game was a breeze. And best of all the right team won,” laughs Ferguson.
Ferguson was one of four PTM’s who recently participated on a TravelManagers facilitated corporate educational to Japan in conjunction with Accor Hotels, Preferred Hotel Group, Intrepid Urban Adventures and Japan Holidays.
Joining Ferguson were PTM’s Melanie Harrop, representative for St Kilda, Fiona Perry representative for Corlette, NSW and Angela Rees representative for Pinkenba, QLD, Simon Alcaraz, corporate PTM support at the national partnership office and Norie Sugisaki from Japan Airlines.
Perry was extremely impressed by Japan Airlines, both in the air and on the ground.
“It was my first time travelling on Japan Airlines and we experienced both business and economy class allowing us a comprehensive understanding of their full product offering. Everyone in business class is guaranteed isle access through the unique design and layout, which I know my corporate clients will appreciate. I was super impressed at the service onboard in both classes, they were professional, efficient and totally accommodating on every level. I now understand why my clients enjoy travelling aboard Japan Airlines. We were also treated to a special tour of their operation centre in Tokyo which was a great honour, considering they were dealing with a typhoon on the day.”
The group discovered Keio Plaza Hotel in Tokyo was ideal in terms of location and facilities for corporate clients.
“The Keio Plaza Hotel was an outstanding hotel well located in Shinjuku, one of the popular entertainment hubs in Tokyo. I can highly recommend the Premier Plaza Club rooms, as they are spacious and suitably equipped for the most discerning business or high-end leisure client. The L’Occitane bath products were a great inclusion as well,” says Perry.
For Ferguson it was the time to really experience the destination as if you were travelling independently, which he found most beneficial.
“Being able to share my extensive personal travel experience and product knowledge with my corporate clients is an absolute priority for me. Their time is often limited so getting ourselves around on the local transport allowed a greater appreciation on what to experience and the time involved in getting anywhere being such a large city. Firsthand experience is invaluable.”
In contrast, the private car transfers were a popular inclusion.
“We experienced the very professional and sleek private car transfers provided by Japan Holidays which we know would suit many corporate clients,” says Alcaraz.
“We got to experience a very unique and often overlooked corner of Tokyo where many family run shops and businesses’ still operate, it was outstanding. Being able to share this personal information and tips I know will make all the difference to clients,” says Alcaraz.
