Travel Counsellors hit the road for series of state conferences

The Travel Counsellors leadership team recently travelled around Australia delivering a series of state conferences aimed at bringing together Travel Counsellors working remotely on their own travel enterprises.

Attending conferences in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney between Friday 22nd October and Wednesday 26th October, the management team presented an informative program aimed at imparting company updates to the conference attendees as well as motivation, inspiration and opportunities for personal development and networking.

Delivered through a series of informative talks and workshops, the conference program was introduced and hosted by Travel Counsellors Managing Director David Hughes. Featuring a global company overview delivered by Julie McGowan, Head of International from the UK, a DMC update delivered by Head of Commercial Aida Osta, the latest development of their unique quote and book system ‘Phenix’, from Simon Ward Commercial Executive from the UK and an empowering motivational workshop presented by General Manager Tracy Parkinson and Julie McGowan, the conferences were well-attended by both new and veteran Travel Counsellors.

“This conference was a really good way for me to take stock of where I’m at and refocus my attention on the areas of my business that need improvement. The Value Yourself workshop was a real eye-opener for me, and I intend to put this newfound knowledge into practice soon in my business,” says Rebecca Lipscomb of Perth.

“One of the challenges of working from home can be the isolation. Luckily I’ve never experienced this, as Travel Counsellors provide so many opportunities for connection. This conference allowed me to connect with so many incredibly supportive and fun people working in the same space as me. I count many of my Travel Counsellors colleagues as friends, and this conference allowed me to meet even more people I hope to call friends soon,” comments Andrew Turner of Brisbane.

“This conference was a great opportunity for me to take a break from my daily schedule and invest some time in the foundations of my business. Sometimes business owners can get caught up in the all the little things that keep a business running, so it’s important to be able to step away for a day, take stock of your business, learn about the industry and network with other likeminded people. As a result of attending this conference, I am going to return to my business with more motivation and focus, so I’m very happy I attended,” says Karen Coates of Adelaide.

David Hughes, Managing Director of Travel Counsellors Australia comments, “With Travel Counsellors agents being located in urban and regional locations all over Australia, conferences such as these are an integral part of our business. These state conferences give our agents a chance to connect with other Travel Counsellors and head office staff, improve their understanding of the industry, and learn about important developments within the company. These conferences are always well-attended, which is a good indication of how committed and engaged our agents are,” says David.
