Club Med launches destination weddings

In response to the growing demand for destination weddings, Club Med Australia and New Zealand has partnered with wedding provider SE7EN Agency to launch a dedicated all-inclusive destination wedding package to the trade market.

With the average cost of an Australian wedding climbing to over $65,000 in 2015, destination weddings are becoming an increasingly popular alternative for couples seeking a unique and intimate setting their wedding. In particular, in the last four years, destination weddings have enjoyed increased popularity, with the industry growing over 30%, and tropical destinations like Bali proving popular.

As an award-winning resort company, Club Med operates over 60 resorts worldwide and pioneered the concept of all-inclusive holidays, Kids Clubs, and all-inclusive snow resorts.  The launch of Club Med’s destination weddings offering continues to innovate in a growing industry, and provides couples with intimate and tailor-made wedding experiences in the world’s most breathtaking destinations – without any of the usual hassle that comes with planning a wedding.

To bring the wedding experience to life, Club Med have partnered with renowned wedding experts, the SE7EN Agency. Born in 2008 with 5 offices worldwide, the SE7EN Agency are recognized as a leader in weddings, delivering over 2000 weddings in less than a decade. The partnership allows for both businesses to deliver a personalized and simple experience for couples planning weddings to overseas destinations.

“At Club Med, we are continually evolving our offering to deliver new forms of experiential group travel,” says Brendon King, Meetings and Events Manager at Club Med.

“With the increase in destination weddings and our partnership with the SE7EN Agency, we have a unique opportunity to give couples a tailor-made once-in-a-lifetime wedding that’s hassle-free – so they can focus on simply enjoying their special day with their loved ones.”

Club Med’s wedding packages are initially launching in three of their most popular resorts: Club Med Bali, Indonesia, Club Med Kani, and the Club Med Finolhu Villas, both in the Maldives, with more to come in future. Club Med Bali provides couples with an accessible destination close to home; Club Med Kani provides a lively island vibe in a dream destination; and the Club Med Finolhu Villas are the ultimate in luxury – the perfect destination to celebrate a wedding and subsequent honeymoon.

Along with Club Med’s all-inclusive offering, Club Med have collaborated with the SE7EN Agency to create fixed price wedding packages, which allow couples to customize their wedding package to suit their unique needs for both the ceremony and reception. In addition, the wedding packages allow for additional services to be added, including cocktail parties and private dinners both in-resort or outside (co-ordinated by the SE7EN Agency).

Couples will also enjoy a dedicated wedding planner, courtesy of the SE7EN Agency, to ensure every moment of their special day goes according to plan.

“The only thing a couple needs to do is invite their family and friends, enjoy paradise, and simply say “I do”.”

For trade partners, Club Med’s wedding packages are fully commissionable, from flights to the all-inclusive package to the wedding ceremony. Club Med’s wedding packages launch exclusively to travel agents, with a wider consumer launch to follow in December.
