On The Go Tours, an award-winning tour operator specialising in locally led group tours and tailor-made holidays to worldwide destinations, is celebrating 19 years of tours to Gallipoli to commemorate ANZAC Day with a 20% discount for all ANZAC tours in 2017.
The 20% discount is available on the six ANZAC tours, four which visit Turkey and two which combine Turkey and Egypt, for departure in 2017 when booked by the 31st October 2016. Giza & Gallipolli is a 13-day tour combining four days in Turkey to join the ANZAC commemorations after exploring the dramatic and majestic sites of Egypt, including the pyramids and Sphinx, Nile, city of Aswan, sailing on a traditional felucca and arriving into Luxor by boat. Travellers will be given the opportunity to; explore the WW1 battlefields on the Gallipoli Peninsular, attend the Lone Pine Wreath Laying ceremony, visit the trenches and memorial at Anzac Cove, join the Dawn Service and wander around the Lone Pine Memorials for quite reflection. Anzac Coo-ee is a nine-day tour of Istanbul and Gallipoli with visits to the Kilitbahir Fort Lone Pine Cemetery, the Nek, Chunik Bair and various other memorials and battlefields. After attending the evocative Dawn Service at ANZAC Cove travellers will be taken on a journey of discovery to some of Turkey’s fascinating ancient wonders such as Troy, Ephesus and Pergamum as well as an optional a dip in the thermal pools of Pamukkale. The tour takes place between 21 Apr – 29 Apr 2017.
Anzac & Ancient Egypt is a 17-day tour combining Istanbul, the ancient wonders of Turkey, the fascinating sites of Egypt, and ANZAC commemorations in Gallipoli. After guided tours of Istanbul and the Gallipoli battlefields, including the Kilitbahir Fort, ANZAC Museum and Lone Pine Memorial, the ANZAC journey concluding with the poignant ANZAC Dawn Service. Travellers will journey on through Turkey to explore Turkey’s ancient wonders including Tory, Ephesus and Pergamum. Fly from Istanbul to Cairo for the final leg of the journey, taking in the majestic ancient pyramids, tombs and temples of Egypt. The tour takes place between 21 Apr – 07 May 2017.
Anzac Bonzer is an 11-day tour centered around the ANZAC commemorations, with an exploration of Turkey’s most iconic cities and sites. After guided tours of Istanbul and the Gallipoli battlefields, including the Kilitbahir Fort, ANZAC Museum and Lone Pine Memorial, the ANZAC journey will finish at the ANZAC Dawn Service. The next chapter in the journey takes in the historic Roman sites of Ephesus and Pergamum, followed by a refreshing dip in the unique cascades of water at the Pamukkale Thermal Baths. From the coast to the hinterland the next stop is the fairy tale like land of Cappadocia, including a visit to Konya to visit the Mevlana Whirling Dervish Museum. After exploriung the underground cities of Capacoodica the tour will end back in Istanbul. The tour takes place between 22 Apr – 02 May 2017.
Pure Anzac is a four day tour which is ideal for those who are short on time and want to visit ANZAC Cove for a slice of the action. Travellers will begin their ANZAC journey with a trip to Lone Pine for the Australian Wreath Laying Ceremony before heading down to the Dawn Service site for the atmosphere charged ANZAC Eve vigil. After joining the Dawn Service, there will be plenty of time for quiet reflection at the Lone Pine Memorials. There will also be time to explore Istanbul by foot and boat, on a two hour cruise along the Bospherus, on either side of ANZAC activities. The tour takes place between 23 Apr – 26 Apr 2017.
