A group of Travel Counsellors agents from all over Australia recently returned from a sunshine-filled famil trip to The Philippines hosted by MW Tours. Taking in the sights of the popular tourist hotspots of Manila, Cebu and Boracay, the seven-day tour included a wide range of exciting activities covering everything from the culture to the cuisine of this nation made up of more than 7000 islands.

Attended by Kate Trickett, Lorie Raymundo, Vivienne Smith and Mihaela Gale, the group got to get in touch with the culture, cuisine, history and natural environment of The Philippines while also inspecting a range of properties to keep up-to-date with the best places to stay and play. From kicking back on the world-famous, white-sand beaches of Boracay, to exploring the Spanish-influenced city of Cebu and indulging in a spot of shopping in Manila, the group were treated to some of the very best experiences this country has to offer.

“This trip was a real eye-opener for me. I’d never travelled to The Philippines before, so I didn’t know what to expect. Now that I’ve had this experience I’ll be recommending The Philippines to everyone from honeymooners to active retirees. With world-class diving and snorkelling sites in Boracay, awesome bargain shopping opportunities in Cebu and Manila, and lots of delicious food almost everywhere, The Philippines is a great low-cost destination for Australians of all walks of life,” says Mihaela of Victoria.

David Hughes, Managing Director of Travel Counsellors Australia believes that Travel Counsellors offers agents some of the best familiarisation tour opportunities on the market. “Being able to travel often is one of the reasons many people become travel agents, yet often agents who work in retail stores end up getting stuck there, leaving them unable to travel as much as they’d like to. Travel Counsellors does things a little differently, offering agents the flexibility and freedom to manage their time as they wish. Offering plenty of opportunities to join exclusive famils like this means that our agents are among the most informed and well-travelled agents in Australia,” comments Hughes.
