Mudgee Region Tourism has been again recognised for excellence in tourism, having been announced as finalist in the 2016 Regional Tourism Awards for its Reset Your Senses campaign, for the second year in a row.
Further cementing the region’s outstanding achievements in travel experiences, Fairview Artspace will be inducted into the Hall of Fame for winning “Specialised Tourism Service” three years in a row.
“We are very excited to be nominated a finalist for the second year for ‘Reset Your Senses’,” Mudgee Region Tourism chairman Russell Holden said.
“Our aim for the campaign is to bring together the amazing produce, people and places that make up the Mudgee Region, and being a finalist reaffirms our marketing is resonating with consumers and the travel industry.”
The announcement also follows the recent launch of the new ‘Let’s Skip Town Together’ campaign, a partnership with Destination NSW aiming to increase visitation, expenditure and awareness of the Mudgee region.
The Regional Tourism Awards are held annually to acknowledge excellence in tourism in the four regional tourism areas of Central, Inland, Murray and Riverina.
A key program on the regional tourism industry calendar, the awards have been credited for elevating regional tourism businesses to achieve state-wide and national acclaim.
“The Mudgee Region offers travellers the opportunity to reset their senses by escaping the city and indulging in the nature and freedom of Mudgee country. In its second year, we have received an outstanding response to the Reset Your Senses campaign and are excited about what is on the horizon for Mudgee Region Tourism for the year ahead,” Mudgee Region Tourism acting CEO Leianne Murphy said.
Winners will be announced at the 2016 Regional Tourism Awards Gala Dinner, Saturday 23 July at the Moama Bowling Club.
