When and why did you join the industry?

I started with Collette in December 2015, I love travel and wanted to make a change in my career. After meeting with the Team at Collette I was very excited to be part of a great company fairly new to the Australian Market.

What do you like most about your job?

Meeting new people and building relationships. It’s so much fun talking about our great product and travel all day. I should have been in this industry a long time ago.

What’s one of the biggest achievements of your career so far?

The most exciting achievement so far is being offered the District Sales Manager role with Collette. What a great opportunity to be given. Being part of a new company to Australia and growing with it.

What’s the best advice ever given to you and who gave it? 

Todd Bridges our Vice President of Global Business Development said to me when I first started…. Have fun, talk to everyone, be yourself and build relationships. Being new to the industry this was the best advice and it is what we do in our role each and every day.

Who do you admire and see as a role model in the industry?

Elizabeth Simmons is our Vice President of sales in the U.S. She is an inspiration, a wealth of information and has had a very long and successful career with Collette and she truly leads by example.

What can people expect from your company and what sets it apart from the rest? 

One thing that really impressed me about Collette was that they really care about their employees, their business partnerships and their customers. One thing we always say is “the more impersonal the world gets, the more personal we get”. I think that is really important, and with life just getting busier and busier it is getting less personal. Apart from the fantastic product we offer, our customer service and the relationships we build set us apart!

What destinations are on your travel bucket list?

Ecuador, Greek Islands, Italy, France, back to New York and the list goes on…….Lucky I am now in the travel industry!

What’s a memorable travel experience you’ve had (good or bad)? 

A trip I had to New York, it was 6 star all the way and I was super spoilt. I did things I thought I would only ever dream of. It was just a taste of New York, but I loved it and cannot wait to return to see more.

What are three things you always take with you when travelling?

My phone charger, Universal Charger and Berocca!

Name someone famous you’d like to travel with and a destination you’d like to go with them.

Sir Richard Branson. I would like to travel anywhere with him, just to have the time to pick his brains and oh to be as successful as him.

What direction do you see the industry heading in over the next five to ten years?

I can only imagine the travel industry will continue to grow. Everyone at some stage in their life needs to travel, either for business or leisure. There is so much choice in the market now it is giving the consumer more opportunity to travel more often. I know Collette and other companies are always working behind the scenes to stay up to speed with what the consumer’s wants and needs are when it comes to travel. Very exciting times ahead I am sure.
