MTA – Mobile Travel Agents’ has announced Queensland Ballet artistic director, Li Cunxin known worldwide as ‘Mao’s last dancer’ will head a stellar line-up of presenters taking part in the company’s 2016 ‘The Power of Community’ National Conference from 04-06 March.
Mr Li joins an impressive line-up of keynote speakers and presenters including master of ceremonies ABC TV ‘The Gruen Transfer’ regular, Dan Gregory, stepping in to handle the role for the second time.
Leading Australian business and life coach Shannah Kennedy, award-winning small business expert Sophie Andrews, principal of The Accounts Studio, and high profile behavioural researcher, strategist, author, educator and corporate coach Kieran Flanagan, of The Impossible Institute™ will also be presenting at the conference.
Announcing the 2016 National Conference and its return to the company’s spiritual home on Queensland’s Gold Coast, MTA – Mobile Travel Agents’ co-managing directors, Roy and Karen Merricks have drawn strong reference to the role all MTA Members play as ‘in community travel advisors’ and their status as part of an ever evolving MTA community comprised of like-minded people.
In a message to the close on 350 advisors, suppliers and leading industry luminaries attending the event at the Sheraton Mirage, the Merricks said the word ‘Community’ represented “the very ethos” on which the company was founded more than 16 years ago.
“For us ‘Community’ is all about the active involvement of a group of like-minded people growing and changing according to their own needs and priorities – and all at their own pace,” the Merricks said.
“From that very first day when we decided to realise our dream and form the company, we like to think our very own MTA ‘Community’ has continued to reflect those values and grow accordingly.
“And that is exactly why we have chosen ‘The Power of Community’ as the underlying theme for the National Conference this year, a year when we return to gather at the company’s ‘spiritual home’ on the Gold Coast.”
A busy schedule of business, peer to peer and networking sessions aside, conference high spots include an official opening ceremony at the Sheraton Mirage’s Grand Ballroom, a BBQ Garden Party and a ‘Power of Community’ celebration dinner hosted by MTA, Virgin Australia and Etihad Airlines.
“The 2016 National Conference is perhaps the most important event in our company’s history, coming as it does at the culmination of a 12-month period where we have implemented the systems which will position an enhanced business model we see as being relevant to both the MTA members and their clients for the next twenty years,” the Merricks said.
“It is an extremely exciting time for everyone involved.”
