When and why did you join the industry?
I’ve been on board since middle of April 2015. I find it exciting and challenging to re-enter Hong Kong Market after years away from Hong Kong.
What do you like most about your job?
It’s a privilege to be working at the flagship of Regal Hotels International and most of all, being located in prime Causeway Bay area.
What’s one of the biggest achievements of your career so far?
One of the biggest achievements so far would be the working experience in key cities of different countries. I appreciate the opportunities to learn the different cultures along the way.
What’s the best advice ever given to you and who gave it?
The best advice I’ve been given not once but a few times by different hotel marketing gurus was to embrace change with an open mind.
Who do you admire and see as a role model in the industry?
I see Mr. Felix Bieger as a role model in the industry. He is always generous in sharing his expertise and advice supported by decades of relevant experiences.
What can people expect from your company and what sets it apart from the rest?
Clients, people in the community can count on Regal Hotels International to be a caring company that relentlessly participate and contribute to the community.
What destinations are on your travel bucket list?
Eastern Europe and the north pole are on my bucket list to visit.
What’s a memorable travel experience you’ve had (good or bad)?
I’ve been very lucky with travel experience. I don’t remember any bad ones. The most memorable one is probably the one to Maui & Kauai where I had the opportunity to stay at really nice hotels with wide roads to drive without worrying about traffic lights. The helicopter ride was a highlight too.
What are three things you always take with you when travelling?
The three must pack items are; bathing suit, phone charger and of course a pair of comfy shoes for walking and shopping
Name someone famous you’d like to travel with and a destination you’d like to go with them.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta is a celebrity I’d like to travel with and visiting a medical facility in a developing country could be quite eye opening.
What direction do you see the industry heading in over the next five to ten years?
I can foresee that technology will substitute a lot of manual work and accommodations are widely available at a lot more affordable prices. Traveling is more of a regular outing activities than a luxury treat.
