State Minister officially opens Quest Kelvin Grove
Last night the Minister for State Development and Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, the Hon. Dr Anthony Lynham MP officially opened Quest Kelvin Grove alongside former State of Origin player and Bronco, Ben Ikin and Quest General Manager of Brand, Tony Gauci.
“Queensland is one of our key growth markets and I am absolutely delighted to open Quest’s 16th property in the state,” said Mr Gauci.
“Business travellers remained a key driver of domestic visitors to the state in the 2013/2014 financial year, increasing by 3.8% to almost 3.5 million with total expenditure by the corporate market in the state exceeding $1.88 billion, according to Tourism and Events Queensland.”
“There are many exciting infrastructure projects underway including the multi-billion dollar Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development, while Legacy Way – the tunnel connecting Toowoong and Kelvin Grove – was recently named Australia’s most outstanding new infrastructure project of 2015 by Infrastructure Partnerships Australia.”
““In addition to the thriving infrastructure in Queensland, tourism has always been a key economic driver along with burgeoning industries including: resources, construction and agriculture. I’m looking forward to expanding Quest’s footprint in the state and strengthening our ties with local communities,” he concluded.
Dr Lynham said Quest Kelvin Grove would add to the accommodation options available for travellers.
“This investment is a huge vote of confidence in Brisbane,” he said.
“Brisbane is a great place to holiday and do business. Our river city is a stunning backdrop for work trips and our vibrant city is perfect to explore on holiday breaks.”
Quest Kelvin Grove Franchisees – Gary Lin and Suzie Yang – expressed their excitement about officially opening Quest Kelvin Grove, thanking the local community and businesses for their support in the first period of business.
“We are honoured to be joined tonight by Dr Lynham to celebrate this truly significant moment. It is very exciting to be part of the iconic Quest Apartment Hotels network and we look forward to ensuring we maintain the premium experience guests know they can expect from Quest,” said Mr Lin.
“Suzie and I are both thrilled with the response Quest Kelvin Grove has received to date and cannot thank the Kelvin Grove Urban Village community enough for their unwavering support as we establish ourselves in the area.”
Quest Kelvin Grove, located at 41 Ramsgate Street within the Kelvin Grove Urban Village, was constructed by EkkoPoint Properties and opened for business on 6 July 2015. The property boasts 85 apartments, comprising a mix of studio, one, two and three bedroom configurations.
