Cebu Pacific Air (PSE:CEB), the Philippines’ largest airline, concluded its first #CEBjuanderers Challenge, held from 1 to 7 August 2015 across five of the country’s top tourist destinations. Organised in partnership with the Philippine Tourism Promotions Board, two bloggers each from Australia, China, Japan and Korea competed in a series of surprise challenges for the chance to win exciting prizes from the airline.
The #CEBjuanderers flew on trapezes in Manila and cooked up a feast in Palawan. They participated in energetic dance-offs in Cebu and adrenaline-pumping ziplines and sky cycles in Davao. The challenge ended on the white sandy beaches of Boracay where the #CEBJuanderers had a ball of a time playing football. They also took part in a Fan’s Choice bartending challenge, as voted by Cebu Pacific’s Facebook fans. Apart from the challenges, they also toured the Puerto Princesa Underground River, one of the New7Wonders of Nature, and went island hopping in Boracay.
Stefanie Acworth and Jean Carmela represented Team Australia and were awarded the “CEBjuanderers Spirited Award” for their excitement and young-at-heart approach to all the challenges.
“I absolutely loved taking part in Cebu Pacific’s CEBjuanderer challenge. While the nature of the trip was mainly physical, the real journey was quite personal as we got to know other bloggers who started as strangers and became real friends. Throughout the week we shared a lot of laughs, Filipino food, breathtaking sceneries, and blood and sweat (literally). Being a CEB Juanderer also allowed us not just to explore the Philippines but to also show and inspire our readers and let them know just how amazing and how much more fun it really is in the Philippines.” said Jean of Team Australia.
“What an absolutely jam-packed week of fun and adventure! I go home today extremely grateful (and a little exhausted) to have been a CEB Juanderer and to have explored the Philippines in all its beautiful glory. The friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime. I’ll definitely be back!” said Stefanie of Team Australia.
“It was fantastic to see all the fun and excitement of the Philippines captured through the eyes of the Juanderers. We hope that as more people see what an incredible time they had, they would be also be inspired to create their own adventures and ‘Juander’ across the Philippines with Cebu Pacific’s excellent domestic and international network,” said CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.
Ikuma Nakagawa and Hidekazu Tanaka from Team Japan accumulated the highest numbers of points from the challenges and emerged overall winners in the campaign. Each member of the winning team received an all-expense paid holiday to any destination in the Philippines for two people, inclusive of flights, two nights hotel accommodation and USD300 travel allowance. All Juanderers will also be holding “The #CEBjuanderers Fans’ Photo Contest” on their social media platforms, where their fans back home will stand a chance to win a pair of return tickets to a direct destination in the Philippines.
