Laucala Island’s 18-hole championship golf course is set against the mountain and integrated into the old plantation area, where undulating fairways and challenging greens with strategic bunkers ensure a well-balanced course.  The par 72 layout offers a myriad of tee box options which enable the perfect balance for golfers of all skill levels – challenging to the more accomplished player, yet fun and welcoming for beginners. Designed by Scotsman, David McLay Kidd, highly regarded for his award-wining Bandon Dunes in Oregan,  the stunning golf course is back dropped by volcanic mountains and clinging to a sheer cliff dropping into the Pacific Ocean.  PGA professionals are available to assist golfing guests.

The all-inclusive Laucala Island is set upon 3,500 exclusive acres on its own island in the archipelago of Fiji amidst turqoise lagoons and pristine sand beaches.  Comprised of 25 villas dispersed around the island, true luxury is epitomised at the resort, enabling guests to experience the variety of activites, dining venues and wellness offerings.

Five different types of villas are scattered throughout the resort.  Plateau Villas are situated on Nawi Mountain, offering unforgettable views out to sea and across the neighbouring islands.  The open-air design of the villas offer a seemless transition of both the indoor and outdoor areas.  The Seagrass Villas are nestled amongst the opulent green of Seagrass Bay’s coastline, and is a beautiful combination of space, exclusively designed interiors, natural materials and luxurious comfort.  The Overwater Villa is the epitome of paradise, which virtually floats above the emerald-green lagoon, enabling guests to reside in luxury over an omnipresent ocean.  The Peninsula Villa is a luxurious mansion resembling an island on an island engulfed in opulent green hills, dazzling waters of the South Pacific and plenty of space for privacy.  The Hilltop Villa is a resort within a resort, situated atop the luscious green hills of the island, with breathtaking views of the surrounding ocean.

Laucala  has a myriad of dining options available to guests.  Romantic candlelight dinners are offered on the private beach, fine dining in the Plantation House Restaurant, authentic Asian delicacies in the Seagrass Restaurant, spectacular sundown cocktails in the Rock Lounge, avant-garde finger food at the Pool Bar and barbecues at the Beach Bar all capture the tropical atmosphere and provide a broad variety of culinary rarities that fulfill every wish.

Aside from the superbly designed golf course, Laucala Island also offers countless activites catered to every guest’s interests.  The Laucala Island water sports centre is equipped with sophisticated sports equipment for guests who wish to experience kite-surfing, sailing, diving snorkeling or jetskiing, and the centre additionally has its own fleet of vessels such as the elegant Riviera Open Flybridge, along with 13 other sports boats.  The varietal coral reefs and incredible profusion of large and small fish captivate both deep-sea divers and rookie snorkellers.  The experienced team of PADI accredited diving base offers a wide range of courses from open water accreditation or certification to night dives, guided snorkeling trips, wreck-diving and underwater photography classes.

Horseback riding is also offered at Laucala for any guest regardless of experience, whereby guests can walk along the fine, sandy beach through plantations and coconut groves.  The island has eight horses and provides safety helmets and vests along with a fenced-in riding arena, managed by a New Zealand horse-whisperer.

Laucala Island also recently added a submarine to the numerous recereational activities offered to guests.  The state of the art, two-person winged submersible craft, DeepFlight provides guest the most exclusive and authentic experience available.
