Hosted Buyer applications are now being accepted for IBTM Arabia 2015, the new one-to-one business event for the MICE industry that has evolved from GIBTM, taking place at The St Regis Hotel Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi from 10 – 12 February 2015.
Pre-scheduled appointments – mutually matched to consider firstly buyer preferences, but also considering those of the suppliers – will create a diary of approximately 30 dedicated appointments for each of the 200 Hosted Buyers exclusively invited to IBTM Arabia 2015 and 200 MICE exhibitors from the Middle East as well as across the globe.
Exhibitors will include destinations, hotel groups, convention and visitor bureaus, conference centres and meeting venues, technology providers and many more from all four corners of the world.
The meetings professionals who apply to attend this event as Hosted Buyers will be selected on their business influence and buying power, both in the region and globally. Successful applicants will be senior decision makers from the Middle East, Europe, Americas, Asia Pacific and Africa, therefore representing a cross-section of the most senior meeting planners in the industry. Specifically, international Hosted Buyers will have definite business to place in the Middle East and regional Hosted Buyers will have specific international business to place. Hosted Buyers at IBTM Arabia will include meeting and conference planners from the insurance, medical oil and gas, healthcare, finance and IT industries, high-level representatives from government, Fortune 500 company planners, large incentive buyers, major association planners and third party agencies.
In addition to their exclusively created diary of appointments, successful MICE buyers will be fully hosted, including return flights to Abu Dhabi and accommodation at the 5-star St Regis Hotel, Saadiyat Island. Social networking opportunities will run throughout the event to enable participants to build meaningful connections in informal and relaxed environments, as well as on the show floor.
On the first day of IBTM Arabia – 10 February – Hosted Buyers will participate in ‘Discovery Day’, which includes a city tour of Abu Dhabi. A dedicated Knowledge Forum, open to all participants will follow and the day will close with a welcome networking reception. After IBTM Arabia, Hosted Buyers will be invited to join post-event tours to discover the Middle East and specifically the region’s leading MICE products and services.
Lois Wilcox, Exhibition Manager of IBTM Arabia, Reed Travel Exhibitions, comments: “The new look and feel of IBTM Arabia has been designed to offer an innovative platform for both Hosted Buyers and suppliers to conduct time efficient business on the show floor. Meetings will take place in semi-private ‘meeting pods’ – a more intimate environment for our guests to build relationships and create meaningful business connections. IBTM Arabia will create a true community for top-level meeting professionals to mingle with their peers as well as leading MICE industry suppliers and enhance their knowledge over the course of three days.”
Hosted Buyer applications are reviewed and accepted based on the number and size of meetings, events, incentives and conferences purchased annually, individual purchasing authority, annual budget for meetings, events and incentives, the value of recent business booked and potential for booking future MICE business.
IBTM Arabia is held with the support of Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau – a dedicated entity of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) charged with stimulating the meetings industry in the emirate.
